The Navistar effort is focused on the process modeling and analysis of engineering design and development processes to support an organization and architectural transition, referred to as Sea Change or the Global Design Solution, in process within the worldwide Navistar engineering group.

The primary goal for Modus21 was to work with subject matter experts to develop dozens of business process diagrams utilizing Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) within the Enterprise Architect tool. These models were then used to identify opportunities for process improvement and further architecture integration. As a secondary responsibility, Modus21 provided advice and consultation, as requested by Navistar, on subjects such as:
- Process centric governance
- linkage to SOA
- interaction and delivery of artifacts to software development teams
